An Opposing View

I read an article from the New York Times suggesting that we should eliminate all personal and religious exemptions for vaccinations. Although I agree with this notion, her article was not very articulate and did not go into very much detail as to how vaccinations work, why they are effective, and she didn’t include any limitations. An angry parent decided to write an article in response to this notion and pointed out some interesting arguments. She pointed out that the eliminating exemptions article did not have enough detail and explained that if the government went through with this, it would be unconstitutional because it goes against our rights which actually made sense to me. She tried to point out that vaccinations are not safe and are not scientifically proven to work (which I disagree with) and also explained that vaccinations disappeared due to society becoming cleaner and public health services increasing.
This is useful for my research paper because I need to have some opposing opinions so that my argument is not biased.

  1. What a great article to find for your research and paper! That is awesome that you could find information that wasn't biased and debating the topic. I don't agree with her statement of the world being cleaner and health services going up. though Have you found anywhere else that comments on this? We are having many illnesses come back because parents aren't vaccinating. These illnesses were "extinct" for a while.

  2. This article seemed to be really interesting but also very effective with your topic and it seemed like you were able to get a lot out of it. The idea of getting rid of religious and personal ideas was interesting ad a different side that I would have never thought of.
